Suspected Attack By ADF Rebels On a School Leaves 25 Dead

Information was received at about 2300/c of an attack by armed people at mpondwe Lubiriha secondary School  (privately owned). 

Shortly info was received that this was a bigger attack by suspected ADF rebels. The Dpc Bwera got in touch with the battalion comdr and the forces advanced to the scene. 

On arrival the school was found burning with dead bodies of students lying in the compound and the schools food store broken into and food to wit posho and beans taken

So far 25 bodies have been discovered and conveyed to Bwera hospital mortuary.

Fire truck from the region has been called to put off the fire.

Commanding officer 5 mountain battalion ,DPC and team all at the scene. Deployment done to safe guard the scene. UPDF on the move to persue the attackers.

Information from the public indicate that the attackers moved on foot with some abducted students (numbers not established) whom they used to carry the looted food towards virunga national park.
