DR Congo presidential candidates call for urgent measures to "save" election

Six candidates running for the presidency in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including President Felix Tshisekedi's main rivals, have jointly issued a statement urging immediate action to safeguard the integrity of the upcoming general election.

The candidates have expressed their commitment to collaborating in order to prevent any potential manipulation of the election results.

They have also called upon the electoral commission to implement various measures, such as the transparent publication of electoral lists and the thorough mapping of polling stations.

The opposition candidates have consistently raised concerns about the possibility of electoral fraud and the lack of transparency throughout the entire electoral process.

The joint statement emphasized the urgent need for decisive action to rescue the electoral process, citing the ambiguity and lack of seriousness that has characterized the pre-electoral operations.
