BUIKWE: Man arrested for collaborating with father to kill girlfriend

The Police in Buikwe district have arrested a man together with his father over the alleged murder of his lover, and the mother of his child for yet-to-be-known reasons.

Ekurius Wazemba, a resident of Luwayo village in Kawolo Division, Buikwe district and his father (now in police custody at Buikwe CPS) are alleged to have hacked to death one Ms Priscilla Agasiru in a Tuesday groaning incident.

According to the Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson, Ms Hellen Butoto, the case was first reported by Agasiru’s brother after discovering her sister’s body dumped by the roadside in Luwayo village on Tuesday, July 11.

“The matter was reported by the deceased’s brother that the body of his sister had been slaughtered and dumped at the roadside of Luwayo village by the boyfriend whom she had a baby with,” SP Butoto said.

“The deceased was cut into two parts, the head and other parts. We have suspects in our police custody to help investigations,” she added.

SP Butoto revealed that scene of crime officers (SOCO) and homicide detectives were able to visit the scene and collected empirical evidence that will aid in the ongoing investigations.

“They recovered blue sandals and a machete at the crime scene, where signs of a struggle were evident,” she noted.

The body has been transferred to Kawolo General Hospital for a postmortem examination, while investigations are ongoing.
