BREAKING! Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces, 7 Others Confirmed Dead in Chopper Crash

 

Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces has been confirmed dead along with seven other officers in a deadly helicopter crash in West Pokot today, 18th April, 2024.
The death of General Francis Omondi Ogolla was first confirmed by his daughter, Lorna Omondi Ogolla.
The other seven officers are; Brig. Said, Col. Keitany, Capt. Sora, Sgt. Omondi, Capt. Litali, Sgt. Nyawira and Lt. Col. Sawe.
The cause of the American made Huey Helicopter crash is not yet established.
President William Ruto has summoned the National Security Council (NSC) for an urgent meeting at State House in Nairobi after a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) chopper crashed on Thursday afternoon.
The KDF chopper, which was carrying Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla, went down at at the Kaben-Cheptulel border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties.
General Ogolla is also a member of National Security Council, which is further composed of President Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale as well as his Interior counterpart Prof. Kithure Kindiki.
