UK, US issue fresh security alert on Uganda

The United Kingdom and the United States have recently issued a fresh security alert regarding Uganda. The British High Commission in Uganda has expressed concern about the increasing threat of terrorism in the country, particularly with regards to targeting foreigners. This warning came shortly after a similar alert was issued by the US embassy.

Both diplomatic missions have urged their respective citizens to exercise caution and avoid attending large gatherings, including religious activities. Additionally, they have advised against participating in music and cultural festivals, specifically mentioning the upcoming Nyege Nyege festival on Thursday.

Furthermore, the UK government has specifically advised its citizens against visiting the Semuliki National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. These areas have been the site of a tragic incident in which an ADF terrorist group killed a British and South African couple along with their Ugandan guide.

It is crucial for individuals to take these security alerts seriously and prioritize their safety while in Uganda.
