Zambia President warns against possible coup

Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema has issued a stern caution to individuals contemplating a coup, emphasizing that they should not jeopardize the democratic governance and stability of the southern African nation.

While the exact reason for his warning remains unclear, it follows a series of recent coups in Francophone Africa and domestic concerns regarding the increasing cost of living.

President Hichilema's message to potential wrongdoers is clear: those who believe they can exploit the situation and unlawfully seize power through an undemocratic coup will face consequences.

He acknowledged the high food prices and assured that the government is actively addressing this pressing issue.
