A woman named Jenesita Bandaganire, aged 58, from Katebere village in Kanungu District, was found dead in a sweet potato plantation near Katebere road on the morning of August 22, 2023.
She had last been seen on the night of August 21 at Mukanoni Trading Centre. Reports indicate that she was purchasing bushera before returning home. Her lifeless body was discovered with blood coming from her nose and ears, along with signs of head injuries.
Preliminary investigations suggest that her death might be related to her recent activity of leveling the ground for a new house, which could have attracted attention from those with ill intentions. The Kigezi region Police are investigating the case, although the identities of potential suspects are unknown at this time. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident.
