In India, a railway bridge that was being built in the northeastern state of Mizoram collapsed. Tragically, at least 26 workers lost their lives and two others were injured in the incident.
The state police confirmed that 13 bodies have been retrieved, and they are working to recover the rest. The state-run railway authority has initiated an investigation into the collapse.
The accident happened during the construction of the Bhairbi-Sairang New Line Railway Project, and the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has established a high-level inquiry committee to look into the matter.
