A young barmaid named Joan Teddy Nabwaya, 19 years old, was tragically killed at New Life Bar and Lodge in Kakumiro district.
The incident is being investigated by Kakumiro district police. The victim was with a man named Alex Muhumuza, 21 years old, when they were attacked by unknown assailants with pangas and torches at 3 a.m. on Thursday.
The attackers breached the door and entered their room, causing injuries to both Nabwaya and Muhumuza. Nabwaya had recently separated from her husband, who had reportedly threatened her life over the phone. Muhumuza survived the attack and is receiving treatment, while Nabwaya's body has been taken for a postmortem.
