A Nigerian Delegation had talks with the military leadership in Niger.

 


 A group of religious figures from Nigeria, led by a prominent Islamic leader, held discussions with the military government officials in Niger. 

The leader of the Nigerian delegation, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, who heads the Izala Salafist Movement, met with coup leader Abdourahamane Tchiani and junta-appointed Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zeine in Niamey. 

After the meeting, Zeine shared that Tchiani expressed willingness to engage in talks with ECOWAS. Lau confirmed the same and mentioned that President Bola Tinubu had authorized the delegation's visit to Niger.
