Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim revealed on Friday that he had a conversation with billionaire Elon Musk, focusing on Tesla's investment plans in Malaysia and SpaceX's satellite communications service.
Earlier this year, Malaysia granted approval for Tesla to import battery-powered electric vehicles into the country, with Tesla committed to establishing offices, showrooms, service centers, and a network of charging stations. Anwar confirmed that Tesla's operations in Malaysia are set to commence within this year.
Additionally, the discussion touched upon Starlink, the satellite communications service led by Musk through his company SpaceX.
