Mohamad Alkhalaf, a Syrian writer, said it is improper for ladies to lick ice cream in a humanized society, referring to it as "profane way of behaving" and calling for ladies to "show a held and deferential disposition in broad daylight" like in Syria.
Writing in Süddeutsche Zeitung, Alkhalaf proceeded with that "eating ice cream and different meals that could be viewed as phallic in shape would be seen as provocative or hostile," and professed to be embarrassed by the demonstration when he previously showed up in Munich.
