MP Muhammad Ssegirinya Flown Back to Europe For Treatment as Health Deteriorates

Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Muhammad Ssegirinya, has been flown back to Europe for further medical treatment, as his health condition continues to deteriorate. The legislator has resumed intensive treatment at the Amsterdam UMC hospital in the Netherlands, where he arrived last weekend.

Ssegirinya's assistant, Alex Luwemba, took to social media to share images of the MP undergoing treatment by a team of medical professionals. Luwemba confirmed to Mulengera News that the decision to fly Ssegirinya back to the Netherlands was made due to the worsening of his health.

The MP was initially supposed to be sent back to Amsterdam in November of the previous year after experiencing complications that led to his emergency admission to Nsambya Hospital. However, Ssegirinya's mother, Mrs. Justine Nakajumba, explained that they had postponed the trip due to concerns about the harsh weather conditions in Europe.

"We are worried about the weather out there; it is very cold, and he might get affected," Nakajumba expressed. "It is also bad enough that I am not traveling with him. Here I am with him all the time. If possible, I would pray that the government helps him to continue getting his treatment here because this hospital is excellent. The doctors are caring and working hard to restore his health," she added.

Hon Ssegirinya is currently battling a range of health issues, including skin cancer and gastro-intestinal complications. The decision to seek treatment in Europe underscores the severity of his condition and the need for specialized medical attention.
