In the northwestern part of Ethiopia, specifically in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region, a recent cholera outbreak has resulted in the deaths of nine individuals, with 131 people infected, according to state television and health authorities.
The outbreak has affected three districts in the region. Additionally, a separate cholera outbreak in the Amhara region, which borders Sudan, has caused the deaths of nine Sudanese refugees.
According to local media, the cholera outbreak has spread to 11 regions in Ethiopia over the past year, resulting in a total of 320 deaths.
