43 Bodies recovered in a disputed city in Somalia

In a disputed city in Somaliland, recent clashes have resulted in the discovery of 43 bodies over the past week, as reported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Additionally, due to the ongoing months-long confrontations in and around Las-Anod, 110 individuals have been wounded and ICRC transported them to hospitals in the past week.

The statement released by ICRC did not disclose the identities of the deceased or assign blame for the conflict.

The total number of casualties, which likely reaches into hundreds, remains uncertain. ICRC noted extensive damage to civilian infrastructure in Las-Anod, the capital of the Sool region.

In the latest confrontations, both sides have taken hundreds of individuals captive, with ICRC successfully conducting its initial visit to 300 individuals held by the militias. #Somalia
