Renewed violence erupted in South Darfur, Sudan, particularly in the city of Nyala, raising concerns of a potential new civil war. 

Witness reports indicate clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, leading to a three-day-long escalation marked by artillery fire in residential areas. 

The conflict has inflicted damage on essential services such as electricity, water, and telecommunications. The Darfur Bar Association reported a death toll of eight people on Saturday, heightening tensions in the region.
