Businessman robbed of shs 32 million after driver stops for short call

A Sudanese businessman, Emmanuel Oga, was robbed of 32 million Ugandan shillings while in Uganda for business.

The incident occurred late at night on August 16 on the Kumi-Mbale highway in Atutur sub county within Kumi District. Oga and his employee, Okello David, were traveling in a white Fuso Fighter with registration number SSD 300D.

When the vehicle stopped for a short break, Oga was attacked by six men armed with knives who emerged from the bush. They took his money, belongings, and injected him with an unknown substance, causing him to lose consciousness.

When he woke up, everything was gone. The police are investigating the case, suspecting that Okello might have collaborated with others in the robbery. The vehicle has been blacklisted, and efforts are being made to locate Okello and his accomplices.
