Around 7 individuals lose their lives following the sinking of a boat in DRC

 

Around seven individuals have lost their lives following the sinking of a boat in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Mai-Ndombe province. 

The vessel, which was transporting approximately 300 people, met its unfortunate fate due to its wooden structure splitting in two. 

The incident occurred in the western region of the country. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing as authorities strive to locate survivors. 

The passengers onboard included public servants who were en route to a nearby town for a routine check-up. Concerns persist about the possibility of the death toll increasing.
