Balaam to the Youth – “I am not here to recruit you into the MK Project”

The new State Minister for Youth and Children affairs, Balaam Barugahara has come out to emphasize his role in the Cabinet strongly condemning those that think he was appointed to recruit young people into the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) that was originally called the MK Project.

While talking to the media after being vetted, Baalam clarified his intentions, saying that his primary role is to address the challenges faced by young people.

Talking about the PLU, or "MK Project," Balaam emphasized that this is not a political party but a civic organization aimed at promoting patriotism and love for the country Uganda.

The ‘civic group’ is currently led by Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is First Son and at the same time the new Chief of Defence Forces and Balaam is the national vice chairperson for western Uganda.

Balaam plans to tackle youth unemployment in his work plan by emphasizing skills development and according to him, a big number of the youth population lacks skills and education leading to high unemployment rates
