The fateful gathering, held to bid farewell to Sheik Ahamad Magumba, the respected County Khadi of the area, descended into a nightmare as attendees fell victim to the toxic substances lurking within the meal. Reports from Buwenge General Hospital, where the survivors were rushed, paint a harrowing picture of individuals suffering from severe symptoms including diarrhea, vomiting, and stomachaches.
Dr. Aggrey Bameka, the Medical Superintendent at Buwenge General Hospital, confirmed the tragic loss of lives and provided insight into the dire situation. "We got 49 people and there were three deaths, two children, and one adult," he expressed, highlighting the severity of the incident.
