Fire in Shop Kills at least 35 in Benin

In southeastern Benin, a tragic incident occurred where a fire erupted in a shop, resulting in the loss of 35 lives. 

According to a representative from the justice ministry, witnesses reported that the fire started while gasoline was being unloaded at the shop. 

The incident took place in the Seme-Podji municipality, near the border with Nigeria. The store was completely destroyed by the fire, and initial reports indicate that among the victims was a child. 

The ministry's prosecutor stated that an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire.

 Additionally, more than a dozen people sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
