Coup Attempt Thwarted in Burkina Faso

The government of Burkina Faso announced that it successfully prevented a coup attempt, as stated by the military government on Wednesday. However, the government did not provide specific details regarding the incident.

In a released statement, it was revealed that a group of officers and other individuals had conspired to destabilize the country with the intention of attacking the republic's institutions and causing chaos.

Although the government did not disclose the identities of those involved, it confirmed that several arrests had been made, and efforts were ongoing to locate others involved in the plot.

The government expressed its commitment to uncovering the instigators through thorough investigations. The military prosecutor later confirmed that four individuals were apprehended, while two remained fugitives.

In response to rumors circulating about a potential mutiny against the authorities, thousands of supporters of the military junta took to the streets in the capital city of Ouagadougou and other areas to demonstrate their allegiance.
