Mabirizi Drags Speaker, Muhoozi To Court

Lawyer Male Mabirizi has taken legal action against General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among, and Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa for reportedly organizing an unauthorized gathering in Teso.[URN]

Mabirizi filed the case at Kumi Chief Magistrates Court, listing 21 other individuals as co-accused, including Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, State Minister for Education and Sports Peter Ogwang, and Members of Parliament from Teso and other regions. The incident in question involved public rallies led by Muhoozi, Tayebwa, and other leaders, drawing thousands of attendees in Bukedea district.

Mabirizi alleges that this gathering, organized by the MK Movement/MK Army, involved political activities and statements, violating the Penal Code Act.

The charges include unlawful gathering, conspiracy to commit a felony, and scandalous conduct. Mabirizi also brought cases against Among for alleged money laundering and against Muhoozi for common nuisance.
