Felix Tshisekedi of DRC intends to run for another term in the upcoming election.

 

Felix Tshisekedi, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, is set to seek re-election in the 2023 presidential election.

 His party, the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), officially announced his candidacy during a special congress in Kinshasa. 

Tshisekedi, who has been in power since January 2019, was also chosen as the party's leader for the next five years. 

One of his main rivals, opposition leader Martin Fayulu, mentioned that he would only participate in the election if changes are made to the current electoral commission before the December elections.
