A building collapse in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, has resulted in the death of at least two individuals, with dozens sustaining injuries.
Rescue operations are taking place in the Garki area of Abuja. Emergency services have successfully rescued 35 individuals from the debris, while two others were found deceased.
The head of the Abuja Emergency Relief Agency stated that the rescued individuals have been transported to hospitals for treatment. The collapsed building served both residential and commercial purposes, and the cause of the collapse remains uncertain. Heavy overnight rains accompanied by strong winds persisted until Thursday morning.
