Four Arrested for Breaking into Police Officer's Home

The police have begun investigating a break-in at the home of a police officer, where property was stolen. According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident took place in Kirinda Busabala parish, Makindye Ssabagabo in Wakiso district.

At around 3:00 AM, assailants reportedly broke into officer Fredrick Baguma's residence, stealing a flat-screen television valued at 1.2 million shillings and a bag containing an unspecified amount of money. The attackers also injured the victim before fleeing.

The officer, a superintendent, reported the crime, prompting the police to deploy a canine unit that tracked the scene to a nearby construction site. Subsequently, four suspects, Umar Mukiibi, Jimmy Mawanda, Abraham Ecau, and Joseph Canodia, were arrested.

Although no stolen items were recovered at the time of arrest, the suspects are held at Katwe Police Station as the investigation continues. The police assure the public that further details will be provided when available.
