"We did not kill any NUP supporter in Bwaise" -SFC

The Special Forces Command (SFC) has refuted allegations that one of its soldiers shot and killed a supporter of the National Unity Platform (NUP) in Kampala. An NUP supporter had posted on social media claiming that their colleague was shot dead by an SFC soldier at Bwaise roundabout.

However, SFC's public information officer, Maj Jimmy Omara, dismissed the tweet as fake and urged people to disregard it. Omara warned against spreading such falsehoods, stating that there was no record of such an incident involving SFC troops.

He attributed the claims to "NUP radicals" and emphasized that SFC would not be deterred from its duties by such distractions.

The allegation surfaced shortly after NUP president, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), returned to the city from a memorial service in Kiboga for Ritah Nabukenya, an NUP supporter who died in a road accident in 2020. NUP had accused a police vehicle of causing Nabukenya's death, but the police denied these claims.
