BREAKING NEWS: Molly Katanga Denied Bail

The High Court Judge Isaac Muwata has refused bail to the widow of Katanga, citing that her age and medical condition do not warrant exemption from imprisonment, as the medical facilities within the prison can cater to her needs adequately.

With the trial scheduled for July 2nd, 2024, the judge believes it is essential for the widow to adequately prepare for the legal proceedings in the pursuit of justice.

It's important to note that on April 4th, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions-DPP urged the High Court Criminal Division in Kampala to dismiss the bail plea filed by Molly Katanga, who is accused of murdering her husband, businessman Henry Katanga.

Molly revealed that before being remanded to Luzira Women’s Prison, she spent more than two months at C-Care IHK Hospital for specialized treatment and underwent five major surgeries on her scalp and hands. She stressed that her injuries require specialized post-operative care for recovery, which is not available in prison.
