A sad incident occurred on Wednesday morning in Bulyantente, Buikwe, resulting in the loss of nine lives. The accident involved a white Mitsubishi Fuso Truck with registration number UBN 533T.
The driver's identity remains unknown.
The truck, travelling from Jinja to Kampala, was carrying passengers and sacks of oranges when it overturned in a water channel. As a result, nine people lost their lives.
Regional Police Spokesperson Hellen Butoto reported that seven of the deceased remain unidentified, while two have been recognized.
The bodies have been taken to Kawolo Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examinations. Additionally, three individuals are currently receiving treatment at Kawolo Hospital as a result of the tragic incident.
