How predator teacher Ssenfuma was lured into visiting his 15-year-old female student

In a startling turn of events, Kato John Ssenfuma, a 40-year-old teacher at Hillside College in Mityana, was yesterday arrested on allegations of attempting to defile a 15-year-old female student at the same school. The incident, which unfolded on January 13, 2024, has sent shockwaves through the community and sparked widespread reactions on social media.

Ssenfuma, a resident of Mukono, is currently detained at Kanyanya Police as investigations are ongoing. The arrest was made at the student's guardian's home in Kyebando Erisa Zone in Kawempe Division, Kampala District. The anonymous source, claiming to have orchestrated the apprehension, revealed that the family discovered Ssenfuma's inappropriate communication with the student through WhatsApp. In a bid to expose the teacher, they decided to lure him into visiting the student.

Contrary to initial reports of leaked WhatsApp messages between Ssenfuma and the student, the anonymous source clarified that it was the guardian using the student's phone to interact with the teacher. Ssenfuma fell into the trap and was apprehended upon arrival at the guardian's home.

Police confirmed the incident, emphasizing that an examination by a Police surgeon confirmed the well-being of the victim, as the intended activity did not transpire. However, during the investigation, authorities discovered unused 'Kiss' condoms and Shs1,000 in Ssenfuma's possession.

The case file has been submitted to the office of the Resident State Attorney, and Kanyanya Police await guidance on the next steps. The file is pending resubmission for sanctioning, and Ssenfuma will face charges as determined by the Prosecution.

This disturbing incident has reignited discussions on the safety of students within educational institutions, prompting calls for stricter measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. The community awaits further developments in this case as the legal process unfolds.
