How Pastor Bugingo Hid Under Steering Wheel to Dodge 15 Bullets

Pastor Aloysious Bugingo of Prayer Ministries International narrowly escaped an apparent assassination attempt on Tuesday January 2nd 2024, as he evaded a barrage of bullets.

Eyewitnesses, including Salt TV presenter Mutebi, recounted the spine-chilling sequence of events. According to Mutebi, Pastor Bugingo skillfully hid beneath the steering wheel of his vehicle, a move that proved crucial in deflecting the hail of bullets aimed at him. The quick reflexes and strategic maneuver allowed the pastor to emerge unscathed from the targeted attack.

Mutebi further revealed, "Pastor Bugingo hid under the steering wheel, that's how the bullets missed him. He also drove after the gunmen to knock them down."

The attackers, undeterred by their failed attempt, unleashed over 15 bullets on Pastor Bugingo's vehicle, on the co-driver's side where they had hoped the pastor was seated.

It is said that 13 bullets caught Pastor Bugingo Assistant Richard Muhumuza, killing him instantly.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, says that despite sustaining injuries during the assault, Pastor Aloysious Bugingo, managed to take control of the situation. He steered his bullet-riddled vehicle to Mulago Hospital for urgent medical attention. However, the same could not be said for his valiant bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, who tragically succumbed to the merciless attack. Richard was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, leaving a void in the security detail that once surrounded Pastor Bugingo.

Amidst the chaos, Susan Makula, the wife of Pastor Bugingo, reportedly fainted upon learning about the shocking attack on her husband. However, sources indicate that she has since stabilized. The news of the incident has undoubtedly sent shockwaves through the religious community, prompting an outpouring of support and prayers for the Bugingo family.
