Mrs. Sarah Ali, the wife of Rt. Hon. Gen. (Retired) Moses Ali, the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament, has died. Mrs. Ali's demise occurred today at approximately 4:00 pm at Medipal Hospital in Kampala.
Mrs. Sarah Ali, a figure of grace and resilience, played a significant role within her family and the broader political community. This unfortunate event marks the second time tragedy has touched the life of Deputy Prime Minister Moses Ali, as his first wife, Aisha Ali, passed away in 2011 at the age of 51.
To pay respects and offer condolences, a Vigil will be held today, Monday, 8th January 2024, at Naalya Estate, along Paul Kasule Road. The gathering is an opportunity for friends, family, and well-wishers to express their sympathies and share in the collective mourning for a woman who touched many lives.
Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has outlined the subsequent arrangements for Mrs. Sarah Ali's final rites. The body will be transported to Adjumani tomorrow, Tuesday, 9th January 2024, in the morning, where the burial ceremony will take place at 4:00 pm on the same day.
Condolences have been pouring in from various quarters, with political leaders, colleagues, and citizens expressing their sorrow at the loss of a respected figure. Prime Minister Nabbanja stated, "May the soul of Mama Sarah Ali find eternal peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ali family during this challenging time."
