Strange Disease Attacks Museveni Minister, Collapses in Office

In a swift response to State Minister of Health Hon Anifa Kawooya's health emergency, the National Medical Board recently convened to expedite the necessary authorization for her urgent medical travel to India. The urgency stemmed from an alarming incident where the veteran Museveni supporter from Sembabule, who has served as an MP since 1994, collapsed within her office at Wandegeya.

Despite the presence of three Ministers—Jane Aceng, Margaret Muhanga, and Kawooya—supported by a team of technocrats and commissioners at Wandegeya, the Ministry of Health faces an overwhelming workload. Reports indicate that officials are grappling with fatigue, leading to concerns about the impact of stress and insufficient rest, exacerbated by frequent travel across the country. Some insiders suggest that Kawooya's health deterioration may be attributed to diminished immunity and exhaustion arising from the demanding schedule.

Officially, the Minister's symptoms are linked to complications related to fibroids, a condition she has been grappling with for some time. She reportedly has six significantly enlarged fibroids requiring surgical intervention, a prospect she has been hesitant to embrace. Consequently, her family and employer decided to urgently fly her to India for specialized medical treatment, acknowledging the precious time lost due to delays in accepting surgery.

Financial considerations loomed large, as Kawooya, unable to secure prompt assistance from the President, turned to the Medical Board clearance and Parliamentary funds available to her as a serving Member of Parliament. Thanks to the swift action of Speaker Anita Among-supervised teams, the necessary funding was processed promptly, facilitating Minister Kawooya's costly medical intervention in India.

As she continues her treatment abroad, our thoughts are with Minister Anifa Kawooya, and we hope for a successful recovery, anticipating her return to resume her responsibilities in good health.
