Tunisia has implemented house arrest for Abdel Karim Harouni, a prominent figure in the opposition Ennahda Islamist Party, as confirmed by the country's main opposition coalition.
Harouni leads the Shura Council, the top governing body within Ennahda, which had held the majority in the parliament that President Kais Saied dissolved in 2021.
The move against Harouni, described as "arbitrary" by the Salvation Front coalition, follows the arrest of Ennahda leaders and the closure of its headquarters. #Tunisia
