Id Amin Memorial Lecture Unsuccessful

The inaugural memorial lecture and prayers planned to honor the late President Idi Amin in Arua City did not happen as originally intended to take place on Friday.

Organizers faced difficulties when Muni University declined to host the event without authorization from the Minister of Education and Sports. The organizers sent a letter to the minister but are still awaiting a response.

The situation is challenging, but they are urging the public to stay focused as they resolve the venue issue. Meanwhile, some suggest moving the memorial lecture to Arua Primary School playground, where Amin was once a pupil. Idi Amin came to power in 1971, ruled Uganda until 1979, and later lived in exile until his death in 2003.
