Zuma ally forms new party ahead of South Africa's general elections

A former leader of the ANC has established a new political party named the African Congress for Transformation (ACT) in preparation for South Africa's upcoming general elections.

Ace Magashule, who was removed from the African National Congress due to violating its constitution, is a close associate of former President Jacob Zuma.

During a press conference in Soweto, Magashule referred to the party as a "new ship for freedom" and extended an invitation to all South Africans who have felt politically mistreated to join.

He criticized previous leaders for betraying the nation and its people, accusing them of selling them out for personal gain.
