The suspect, identified as Gift Namyalo, allegedly entered her mother-in-law's house while her co-wife was outside fetching water.

She took the one-year-and-three-month-old baby, Moreen Nakirijji, into the house, closed the door, and attempted to flee. However, the baby's uncle, Ibra, noticed and chased her down. She was apprehended and handed over to the local police.

The deceased child's mother is named Betty Nakiyimba, and both she and the suspect are married to Brian Lule. Namyalo remains in custody, and the baby's body is at Mulago Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
