Around 11:00 AM on August 28th, 2023, a significant accident occurred on the Kampala-Mbarara Road. The incident involved a Global bus bearing the number plate UBB 985M.
The driver lost control due to the slippery road conditions caused by heavy rainfall.
The accident took place at Kyekurura, shortly after passing Kinoni center in Lwengo District, within the Greater Masaka region.
One individual sustained severe injuries in the incident. Local authorities and onlookers promptly responded, transporting the wounded individuals to nearby medical facilities.
Police strongly advises all drivers, especially during this rainy season, to avoid excessive speed on slippery roads in order to prevent such incidents. Additional updates will be provided in due time.
