COSASE has handed over Patrick Kiconco Katabaazi, a city lawyer, to Parliament Police on allegations of misappropriating Shs39Bn from NAADs meant for tea farmers' payments.
The law firm, Pathway Advocates, which Kiconco is associated with, is accused by the farmers of not disbursing the full amounts as claimed in Kiconco's NAADS accountability reports.
For instance, despite Kiconco reporting a payment of Shs150,928,485 to Sirajje Mastiko, the farmer's bank statement showed only Shs105M received.
Similarly, Kiconco claimed to pay Henry Tukahirwa Shs24,298,160, but a debit of Shs22,417,559 was made to the law firm's account on the same day, and the farmer received only Shs11M.
