MP Ssegirinya accuses Parliament of refusing him financial aid while he battles skin cancer and lung infections. Ailing Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya is requesting financial help due to his inability to cover the increasing medical costs tied to his health condition.
Currently hospitalized in Amsterdam's UMC Hospital, Ssegirinya's family gave Parliament a week to provide Shs80 million for his medical expenses. Ssegirinya stated that despite supporting other MPs financially, Parliament rejected his request for aid.
Speaking to MP Muhammad Nsereko via video call, Ssegirinya disclosed his health challenges, including skin cancer, lung infections, and liver issues needing surgery.
Despite reports, Parliament's Spox, Chris Obore, assured that they wouldn't abandon Ssegirinya and would provide medical aid pending clearance from the Parliament medical board.
