Ven Bob Mwesigye, the dean of Ankole Diocese, revealed on Wednesday that Rt. Rev Dr. George Tibesigwa, the Emeritus bishop of Ankole Diocese, has passed away.
The late bishop, who had been undergoing treatment for dementia at Mayanja Memorial Hospital in Mbarara City, was confirmed to have passed.
"We have received the sorrowful news of our Emeritus Bishop's departure; nevertheless, we await Associate Professor Bishop Sheldon Mweigwa to formally convey the particulars and the schedule," he stated.
Tibesigwa had served as the 4th bishop of Ankole Diocese from 2007 until July 2010. He passed away at the age of 78.
