Mathias Mpuuga, the Leader of the Opposition (LOP), has disclosed that certain insurance firms contracted by Parliament to provide health insurance for Members of Parliament, are delivering inadequate services by only offering basic solutions like Panadol.
This is occurring despite these companies charging the Parliamentary Commission significant amount of money.
Mpuuga's comments were prompted by the Deputy Speaker's explanation about Parliament's efforts to assist MP Muhammed Ssegirinya, who faced criticism for not following proper procedures for utilizing taxpayer funds to cover his overseas medical treatment expenses.
