Architect Who designed Mapeera House is Dead

 

Architect Henry William Sentoogo,

Architect Henry William Sentoogo, renowned for his designs including State House, Mapeera House, and Christ the King Church, passed away on August 21, 2023. His significant impact on Kampala's skyline has left a lasting legacy. 

Throughout his career, Sentoogo contributed to iconic structures such as Bank of Uganda, Entebbe State House Lodge, Sheraton Hotel, and Entebbe airport extension. Trained in Kenya and the UK, he was known for his integrity, humility, and dedication to his profession. 

Sentoogo's architectural influence extended globally, as seen through his honorary membership in the union of architects of Bulgaria. He received prestigious awards like the King George VI Award and the Mandela Presidential Award. Sentoogo's funeral arrangements include services at Christ the King Church and Rubaga Cathedral, with his final resting place in Kitende, Ssekiwunga village on August 29, 2023.
