The Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah on behalf of President Museveni handed over the flag to the representative of Rwanda as next years host at the climax of today's celebrations held at Hotel Africana in Kampala this afternoon.
Swahili Language Day : Siku ya Kiswahili ya Umoja wa Mataifa) began when the UN declared 7th July as Swahili Language Day in 2022 to be observed annually.
Today Uganda hosted other East African countries to commemorate the 2nd swahili day under the theme "Unleashing Kiswahili's Potential in the Digital Era."
The commemoration serves as a platform for discussing initiatives that empower Kiswahili as a vital language for communication.
Delegates from partner states of Burundi, DRC, Kenya,Rwanda ,South Sudan and Tanzania participated in the event.
