One Dead In New York State Storm Chaos

At least one person has died after “tidal wave-type waters” smashed large boulders into her house before sweeping her away as she tried to escape the conditions in Orange County.

On Sunday night, Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a State of Emergency for Orange County and Ontario County, citing “experienced life-threatening flooding over the past few hours” that totaled around eight inches of rain by 10 pm local time.

Hochul added that there was an unspecified number of “missing individuals” in Orange County as there is “still a very dangerous situation” in the region.
