Indonesia Anthrax Outbreak: 3 Dead, 87 Infected


 


The outbreak took place on the island of Java in Indonesia, according to The Jakarta Post, with the death toll potentially rising beyond three.

Local authorities have begun to carry out necessary sanitary measures, including the vaccination of cattle. Most livestock farms have been quarantined.

Anthrax is a highly contagious zoonotic disease that is commonly found in the home and can cause blackening of the skin, ulcers, vomiting, shock, and meningitis.
