Google Alleges India Antitrust Body Protects Amazon

Legal documents reveal that Google has accused India's antitrust authority of issuing directives to alter its business model solely for the purpose of safeguarding its competitor, Amazon. The accusation arises from Amazon's complaint about facing challenges in creating a modified version of the Android system due to the restrictions imposed by Google.

In an attempt to nullify the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) October ruling, which mandated Google to implement ten modifications to its business model, Google has approached the Supreme Court of India.

The CCI had determined that Google, through its Android operating system, which dominates 97% of India's smartphone market, had engaged in unfair practices, leveraging its dominant position.
