Minister of State for General Duties Henry Musasizi with KCCA leadership today appeared before Parliament Presidential Affairs Committee where he presented proposal to borrow funds to finance the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA) urban development project.
These funds include: Special drawing rights (SDR) 374.8 million (USD 518 million) with USD 48 million grant from the International Development Association of the World Bank Group & Euro 40 million (USD 42.66 million ) from the French Development Agency.
The project covers KCCA & districts of Wakiso, Mukono and Mpigi to upgrade strategic roads (611km), junctions, drainage channels, markets & workspaces etc.
