15 Killed In Jihadist Attack In Burkina Faso

An assault believed to be carried out by jihadists in eastern Burkina Faso resulted in the deaths of 15 civilians on Wednesday, AFP reports.

The incident triggered a "mass exodus" of residents who were fleeing the incursions made by armed groups in the area.

An official from the locality said that the attack took place in Zorga, which is situated near the eastern region's capital, Pokande, in Gnagna province. "Around fifteen individuals, including women, lost their lives in the early morning attack on the village. The assailants, riding on motorcycles, launched the assault, causing injuries to several individuals who were later evacuated to Pokande."
