Sudan Violence Worsens Amidst Failing Truce Talks

Fighting has continued in Sudan’s capital Khartoum and around the country as US/Saudi-brokered peace talks between rival generals in Saudi Arabia have seemingly stalled.[RT]

The UN claims looters have ransacked the main premises of the World Food Programme as the humanitarian crisis deepens, with almost all hospitals unable to function amidst widespread power, fuel and water shortages.

One Saudi diplomat told the AFP it is no surprise the talks are floundering and ceasefires have been ignored, because both sides are looking to “attract the good graces of the Saudis and the Americans, rather than to reach an agreement”.
